How to reserve a cardboard stand-up or Big Bear

All items are checked out on a first-come-first-served basis.

Try to reserve your items, especially Big Bear at least two weeks in advance

Stand-ups are delivered on the checkout date requested on the form, or on the last delivery day prior.  Big Bear requires his own van, therefore delivery is based on the availability of drivers and vehicles

Use this Google Calendar to verify availability of the desired items.

Care & Handling of Cardboard Stand-ups.

  • Be gentle with the tabs when setting them up.
  • Allow plenty of room around each stand-up.
  • If you attach a sign, make sure it will come off without destroying the surface of the stand-up. (removable tape, string, post-it notes)
  • Return standup broken-down/folded and inside its plastic bag (if it has one) and card board carrier.
  • Let us know about any damage that needs to be repaired.

Care & Handling of Big Bear

  • Big Bear stays in his chair at all times.
  • If you need to move him, use 2 people and move him in the chair.
  • DO NOT try to lift him by arms, legs or head because it may tear them off.
  • If Big Bear or his clothing is torn or damaged, let us know so we can repair it.

Big Bear

Big Bear is golden in color and stands 7’ tall and about 6’ tall seated in his wicker chair. He is an authentic Steiff Bear.

About Big Bear

Big Bear is 7’ tall and about 6’ tall seated in his chair. A space 8’ in diameter is recommended for Big Bear and his chair. He is an authentic Steiff bear worth around $2500 and was donated by Tonya Stockwell.

Scheduling and Delivery

Check the reservation calendar and try to submit your request at least two weeks before you need Big Bear. Please also try to keep him for at least two weeks. Someone should be at the library to receive him.
