Title: Library IT Systems Administrator

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 years of experience in network administration and systems support, preferably in a multi-site environment.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Experience with the SirsiDynix Symphony ILS or similar library management systems is highly desirable.
Position Information:
The Library IT Systems Administrator manages technology infrastructure and provides outstanding customer service and technical support across 55 locations in southern Wisconsin.
In this newly created position, we seek a skilled, proactive candidate who will support the Prairie Lakes Library System (PLLS) member libraries and other contracted libraries within southern Wisconsin. This role focuses on managing and maintaining the Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure to ensure secure and reliable connectivity for all library locations. Key responsibilities include configuring, installing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network devices like PCs, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
About Prairie Lakes Library System:
PLLS is a federated public library system serving Southeastern Wisconsin. Formed in 2023 through a merger of two smaller library systems, we are engaged in an active process of organizational renewal. The service area of PLLS comprises the counties of Racine, Rock, and Walworth. The primary members of PLLS are 22 public libraries ranging from large urban to very small rural. PLLS maintains relationships with affiliate partner organizations such as school districts and senior living facilities and provides contractual services to other library system partners. PLLS currently maintains two office facilities located in Waterford and Milton, Wisconsin.
